Education Program Manager
As the Education Program Manager for the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Catherine Bartlett is responsible for the development and implementation of ASDM’s school, outreach, youth, camp, family programs, and virtual outreach. Additionally, she’s a key science communicator as the editor of the newsletter “Desert Discovery”, lead writer for exhibits, and a regular contributor to the Desert Museum’s blog “Desert Diaries”. Catherine also developed and hosts “Sips with Scientists”, a virtual program where science, comedy, and happy hour intersect. She’s an active committee member for the Invertebrates in Education and Conservation Conference and serves on the Leadership Team for Tucson Improv Movement. She’s a 2018-2019 Public Voices Fellow with The OpEd Project and has been published in Scientific American, NBC News, and the Arizona Daily Star among others and is a Tucson “40 Under 40” awardee. She received her B.S. in Zoology from Northern Arizona University, M.S. in Entomology and M.Ed. in Teacher Education, both from the University of Arizona. As a native Tucsonan, Catherine has an engrained appreciation for the Sonoran Desert and, of course, sunscreen.
